The Traveling Ronin
WE ANSWER TO NO ONE — No master owns the final cut. The work follows the idea, wherever it leads.
EVERYTHING VANISHES — Cities, objects, voices and entire ways of living are flattened into images designed to be consumed and forgotten. We keep an honest copy before memory rewrites it.
MANY BLADES. ONE CUT. — Software. Games. Film. Sound. Code. Paper. Hardware. Objects. The medium changes. The intention does not.
INSIDE THE MACHINE — There is no meaningful outside. We use the platforms, algorithms and machines of our era without allowing them to decide what the work becomes.
The world is being redrawn by the same hand.
Same filters. Same angles. Same frictionless perfection —
until every city, object and memory begins to answer to the same system.
We use that system too. Its platforms. Its algorithms. Its machines. Its appetite.
There is no outside worth pretending to occupy.
The difference is simple: the machine can carry the work.
It cannot decide what the work becomes.
We record what remains imperfect, contradictory, loved, disappointing, alive.
Not the definitive version. An honest one, preserved before memory improves it.
Some of it becomes software. Some becomes film, sound, games, books, hardware or objects.
Some remains classified.
The road decides the form. The Archive keeps the trace.
